I was born and raised in Dakar, before continuing my life journey in France.<\/p>

Souley was born from my travels between France and Senegal (between 2002 and 2014). Indeed during my stays in Senegal, one of my favorite activities was to go to the markets, to hunt. It allowed me to explore a different world in terms of fashion. The fabric is omnipresent in Senegal and the clothing is mainly made to measure, which is a luxury in Europe. I then started to mix European fashion and African style. My period summer shorts are matched with wax and other fabrics found here and there. The brand was born without even realizing it. Over the years, I realized that my designs always attracted compliments and questions. The people around me were always captivated by the originality and the quality of my outfits. They were even more astonished when I told them that my clothing was tailor-made and handmade in the land of Teranga, my dear Senegal. Hey wi we have some excellent artisans on the mainland. It was from this experience that the idea began to germinate little by little.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

I needed a name reflecting this duality between African identity and Western identity. I then explored the first names of men around me and discovered \u00ab\u00a0SOULEY\u00a0\u00bb the name of one of my ancestors. Souley comes from Souleyman which means \u00ab\u00a0healthy, intact, safe\u00a0\u00bb. It was perfect, everything was fine with me, both the sound and the meaning in line with my vision.
In 2014, I returned to settle permanently in Senegal. I dress mainly to measure, I also meet new tailors and discover new local supply chains for different types of textile materials. Alas, I am caught in the heat of Dakar’s hectic life, family and my job. Nevertheless, I am rediscovering my country through other projects dear to my being.
It was not until 2020 that I firmly decided to bring SOULEY to life. After a year of research, testing, hard work, I am proud to present to you this newborn, this new baby. Yes I am SOULEY, and I am now by your side, I am your new traveling companion.
